Growing Leaders: Nurture The Leaders In Your Midst

Monday, May 19th, 2008

A strong and fully developed leader is hard to miss. They make their presence known and their leadership abilities are obvious. But they were not always the strong and dominant person you see before you. At some point they may have been a “closet leader” who was unsure and conflicted about assuming a leadership role. How do you dig out these “closet leaders” and help them become a team leader?

Lost Time Is Expensive!

Sunday, May 11th, 2008

Once wasted, time is the only resource that cannot be replaced nor recovered - no matter how great the effort or monetary reward! Consequently, it should be a constant focus for any individual or organization to utilize time wisely. If employees could be more productive for just one half hour per day, the savings in lost time would quite substantial. Could You Do This And Would You Be Prepared To Do It?

So if you’re reading this and think that this is all over your head, ask yourself: ‘Is that really what I want?’ So you want to be a follower all your life, obeying orders at every turn? I doubt you want to look back at your life and find that there’s nothing spectacular to note.

I was a born a NY Yankee fan, so it stands to reason that my interest in America’s favorite past time – baseball – rises significantly every September. I watch games played against the Red Sox, regularly check the standings, and worry about A-Rod, Jeter and the entire pitching staff. During a recent game, my mind wandered into leadership territory, and it occurred to me that we could learn a lot about leadership through baseball, and the pitchers in particular.

Self-esteem And Your Sales Success

Thursday, February 21st, 2008

You can learn every sales technique in the book, master every sales strategy and spend all of your free time learning how to prospect better, close more effectively and give better sales presentations but, if you have low self-esteem you will still never become a sales super-star. Why not? Why is your self-esteem the most critical aspect of your sales success?

Self-esteem is how you perceive yourself. It is your personal assessment of your self-worth and it is the ‘governor’ that determines your ultimate performance and success no matter what your chosen career or activity.
