Identity Theft Risks For Debit And Atm Cards

Sunday, April 20th, 2008

The identity theft risk with debit cards or ATM cards lies in their PIN number. There are three main ways an identity thief can steal your PIN and access your bank account:

1. The first is if you leave your PIN somewhere that is accessible, in the worst case if you leave your PIN recorded somewhere with your debit card. You could get a phone call at work from someone stating that they just started and need help accessing their system account. They may even mention a manager’s name to make you believe they are a legitimate employee.

Why Site Owners Must Know California Internet Regulations

Most sites on the web are at least faintly familiar with the implementation of legal regulations related to their sites. Most, however, have never heard of the California Catch-22.

Most sites tend to view complying with legal regulations as a somewhat amorphous subject. You know you are supposed to do something, but are not particularly sure why or what to do. One might even imagine a bit of “cut and paste” was going on, but who am I to say!
