One of the most exciting things to do while on holiday in the Maldives is to dive beneath the clear blue sea and spend some time with the amazing tropical fish and coral reefs.
It is possible to stay in a resort and go diving from there, however, I have found it is much more fun to spend a few days on a diving safari. These are generally made up of a dozen or so divers that live onboard a boat that is custom fitted for this purpose. On a diving safari you can pick and choose your dive sites, visit some of the smaller and more remote islands, and find secluded anchorages to spend the night.

Something I often find myself getting asked from friends and relatives who know my expertise in the island is what the average Cuban holiday actually involves. This is a question I simultaneously love and hate answering - I love it because it gives me an opportunity to chat at length about a topic I love, but I hate it because if they’ve asked that question it means I’m going to be there for a while. You see, simply put, there is no ‘average’ Cuban holiday, and everyone goes to the island for different reasons and receives a unique experience in return. The experience holiday makers get on their Cuba holidays can be relaxed, cultural, exhausting or breathtaking - but never forgettable.

Just arrived home from Switzerland and I am already missing it. Switzerland with all its scenic beauty, cow bells and marvelous and ever-ready to help people. One of my husbands’ friend had already been to Switzerland and he provided us with a tour plan for four days. We had four days and there was so much to do and see. We tried to squeeze in everything that we could. Instead of staying at a hotel in Inerlaken (it was suggested by our friend and all the Indian crowd invariably land there). Interlaken is in the center of Switzerland, so it can be made base for the tour, but my husband had already talked to his friend in Lausanne and we stayed there for our trip.Lausanne is the Olympic Capital” since 1994. It is home to the Olympic Museum, the most visited site in Switzerland. Bjart Ballet of Lausanne is world-famous.

If you have taken a flight recently, you probably noticed the airlines are having big problems. Sometimes it is weather delays. Sometimes there are mechanical problems. But anytime the word CANCELED pops up on the screen, there is a capacity problem and it is a big problem.
In the not to distant past, a canceled flight meant the affected passenger just had to walk down the corridor and book a seat on a different carrier. It was not a big deal.
But it is now. The planes are sold out. Why are things so different today?
