Identity Theft Risks For Debit And Atm Cards

Sunday, April 20th, 2008

The identity theft risk with debit cards or ATM cards lies in their PIN number. There are three main ways an identity thief can steal your PIN and access your bank account:

1. The first is if you leave your PIN somewhere that is accessible, in the worst case if you leave your PIN recorded somewhere with your debit card. A thief who takes your purse or wallet and gets possession of your debit card can do very little with it until he gets your PIN. With your PIN he gains full access to your bank account as if he were you.

Even the most basic of traffic tickets can result in a rather large increase in insurance rates. When fighting a ticket, clearing a record and saving money in the long run is the aim, provincial offenses specialists might be worth considering.

Provincial offenses specialists are not necessarily attorneys. In the case of traffic citations, these people are generally quite skilled at representing clients, however. Everything You Ever Need To Know About The Dmca

Saturday, March 29th, 2008

The Digital Millennium Copyright Act (lawyers call it the DMCA) updates U.S. Copyright law for the digital age. The DMCA has several components. Circumvention of Copyright Protection Technology

The DMCA prohibits persons from circumventing electronic copyright protection systems. In other words, persons may not descramble or decrypt a copyrighted work, nor may they bypass, remove, deactivate or impair a technological measure intended to protect the work. So, a content thief who steals a password to gain access to protected material would violate the act. And the circumvention provision even goes farther-it prohibits the manufacture or sale of technology that is primarily designed to circumvent copyright protection technology. This is good news for copyright owners and for companies who develop and implement copyright protection technologies-and bad news for hackers and content thieves. This provision carries steep civil and criminal penalties.

In regards to furniture, most standards concern safety and health issues. Furniture – by its very nature - is not associated with great risks. Nevertheless, certain products have been deemed sufficiently dangerous by regulators to require the imposition of appropriate safety standards. This applies predominantly to (i) baby and children furniture, (ii) mattresses and upholstered furniture in regards to flammability, and (iii) furniture used in “high risk occupancies”, such as detention and correctional facilities, hospitals, mental institutions, school dormitories etc.

Data Protection - Database Right For Sales Agencies

Sunday, March 16th, 2008

A ruling by the High Court has resulted in new case law governing sales agencies with regard to database rights.
